The Colony is a thoughtful restoration of a 1960 Smith & Williams modernist residence tucked into the quiet hills of Upper Nichols Canyon. Guided by the home’s original architectural language, we reworked the interiors to create a stronger sense of openness, warmth, and connection to the surrounding landscape. A sculptural spiral staircase, custom reeded-glass pivot door, and layered mix of vintage and contemporary furnishings bring rhythm and character throughout the home, while tropical and native plantings soften the architecture from the outside in. Rooted in collaboration and material sensitivity, The Colony reflects Ome Dezin’s ongoing approach to preservation — honoring the integrity of a home while evolving it for contemporary California living.
